"It is possible to be faithful to God, and yet to be overwhelmed with discouragement as we face the world. In fact, if we are never overwhelmed, I wonder if we are fighting the battle with compassion and reality, or whether we are jousting with paper swords against paper windmills." ~ Dr. Francis Schaeffer, Death In The City
The Vincentians bring that compassionate fight into the world with God’s love as their sword. Bring your compassionate love to our Society at St. Mary Monroe.

Inspired by the Gospel, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, offers men and women an opportunity to grow spiritually by giving personal service to those who are poor and/or in need. The purpose of the Society is to fulfill the two great commandments – love of God and love of neighbor.
EMERGENCY FOOD AND ENERGY ASSISTANCE
St. Vincent de Paul is a major provider of emergency assistance. We try to help when our neighbors need help with their bills, and whenever life has taken an unforeseen turn for the worse.
Your need is important to us. For assistance, please call our main phone line at 734-241-1644. Please follow the instructions as prompted – and you will be able to leave a voicemail message that our system will route to your local St. Vincent de Paul conference. A representative will retrieve your message and contact you regarding your request for assistance.
May Jesus provide you comfort.
The fundamental elements of St. Vincent de Paul are Friendship, Spirituality, and Service. It is the aim of all Vincentians (members of St. Vincent de Paul) to continually grow in these areas. To aid in this growth members form small groups called Conferences.
Traditionally, a Conference is formed at a Catholic Church; however, a Conference may be formed among any group of like-minded people who desire to help those in need.
Membership is open to all individuals who want to follow the spirit of our founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and our patron and namesake, St. Vincent de Paul.
To find more about becoming a member of St. Vincent de Pail or finding a local Conference within the Archdiocese of Detroit, please contact:
