Shirley Edmonds spent forty years caring for others at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Nurturing both adults and children alike, her work which spanned forty years, fostered healing and peace. She married her husband, Robert (Buzzy) on her birthday at St. Mary Church on June 24, 1967. They met while Shirley was caring for him as a patient in the hospital. Following her retirement, Shirley enjoyed coming to the Soup luncheons in the St. Mary Parish Life Center as well as playing cards and bingo, crocheting, and visiting casinos. To all who were part of Shirley’s life, St. Mary Parish offers their sympathy and our continued prayerful support. May the hope of the Resurrection and the memories you forged with Shirley comfort and console you.
