Family and friends gathered on Monday, June 7th to give thanks to God for His goodness and pray for the peaceful repose of Mary Kathryn Carpenter. She was a woman who lovingly devoted herself to the needs of her family and guided and assisted others through her work as a librarian at various school and community libraries. Through her active service on community boards, Mary shared her wisdom and time in making the world a better place in which to live. Blessed with the support of her late husband, John Willard (Bill) (d. 2019), the Carpenter’s nurtured two children; Anne Marie (Jeffrey) Spaulding and (Bill) III (Maria Cronley) and delighted in the presence and activities of their three grandchildren; Monica (Mr. Alexis Piraina) Naida, Mark (Haley) Naida and Brent Spaulding. May all those who grieve Mary’s death be consoled with the hope of the resurrection. And may the words from the Gospel of Matthew 28:20: “And know that I am with you always” comfort you and bring you peace in the coming days and years. You are remembered in prayer by the St. Mary Parish community.
