Friends and Family of Jeanne Marie Poupard gathered to remember and give thanks for the blessing of their sibling, aunt, friend. Jeanne was the fourth oldest of the twelve children born to Eugene and Alice (d.). Her siblings recall that the family united around Jeanne, who was differently abled. Jeanne enjoyed “Saturday Morning Faith Sharing” every week in our parish Heritage Hall. It was there, as well amid her family, that her faith was nurtured, and she fell in love with Jesus as she came to know the many bible stories of His life. Without a doubt her favorite song, which she repeatedly sang, was: “Jesus Loves Me”, which was a prelude at her funeral Mass. Her family; father: Eugene, sisters: Mickey, Barbara, Patricia, Lynn, Marie, Ann, Elizabeth and Margaret and her brothers: Marc, Jeff and Gregory grew in many ways because of Jeanne’s presence among them. She taught them compassion, the sacredness of family and re-enforced their awareness that everyone has a unique dignity because each person is a child of God. Grateful for Jeanne’s innocence, joy and presence among us, St. Mary Parish extends its prayerful support to all of Jeanne’s family and friends who honored and treasured her. May her life inspire us to “become as little children”, as we look forward to the resurrection and being reunited with her in the presence of God one day.
