Family and friends of Romanda Ellen Grodi gathered to celebrate her earthly life as well as her new life in Christ. Romanda entered the Catholic Church as an adult prior to the marriage to Ray Grodi on November 16, 1946. She enjoyed spending time with children, playing games, watching musicals with them, sewing for them, making jewelry and dolls. Romanda helped others by sharing her time fixing radios, toasters, assisting with plumbing needs; taking things apart and then putting them back together again. She also was an avid photographer and often put photos of her children and grandchildren on magnets to be displayed on the refrigerator. Her devotion to and care for her family was central to her: caring for her husband, Ray (d. 2013) in his later years as well as cooking for her family, playing word games with her children and grandchildren and teaching her grandchildren to dance. St Mary Parish extends its sympathy and prayerful support to Romanda’s children; Randy (Jill); Cynthia (the late Cecil) Drumheller and Cheryl (Joe) Bellestri; her grandchildren; Kelly, Kim, Jennifer, Greg, her step-grandchildren, her nine great-grandchildren, and her sister Irene (Edward) Russeau May God console and comfort you with the hope of the resurrection as you grieve the death of Romanda.
