Exposition is the placement of the sacred host outside the tabernacle for public prayer.  The Church permits a ”full” exposition when the sacred host  is visible in a vessel called a “monstrance”.

It’s purposes are to:
● Acknowledge Christ’s presence in the Sacrament.
● Lead a fuller participation in celebration of the Eucharist.
● Foster the worship due Christ in spirit and in truth.

PRESENT NEEDS
Persons willing to pray for an hour before the “exposed” Blessed Sacrament.
At least two persons need to be present at all times.

SERVICE PROVIDED 
Assists the priest during Mass and sacristan duties.  Ages 4th grade through high school.

TIME COMMITMENT
Altar servers are scheduled to serve Mass once or twice each month. Annual general training held every fall.

SERVICE PROVIDED
● Assist with creating environment that enhances the worship of the parish
● Transport items from the church attic to the sanctuary and return these items as needed
● Decorate the church for the different seasons of the liturgical year:  Advent, Christmas, Ordinary Time, Lent, Easter

●People with an artistic eye and flair
● Volunteers with the ability to lift and transport items used in decorating the church

TIME COMMITMENT
Seasonal as needed; seasonal preplanning meetings at convenience of committee members.

SERVICE PROVIDED 

• Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist (EMEs) serve the parish community as the distributor of the Eucharist (the Body and Blood of Christ) at Sunday Mass.
• Steward/Sacristan oversees preparation for the liturgy
• They also serve the parish by setting out adequate hosts and wine to be consecrated by the priest and clean the sacred vessels following Mass.

• A short training session is required prior to serving in this ministry.  EMEs are scheduled once or twice a month. 
•  In preparation for this ministry, EMEs are asked to pray daily and meditate on the Sunday Scripture passages. 
• The Steward, one who prepares for the liturgy, arrives twenty minutes prior to Mass.

● A warm welcome and greeting to all who worship with us each weekend.
● Greeters arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of weekend Masses.

SERVICE PROVIDED
A lector proclaims the Word of God when parishioners gather to celebrate Mass.
 
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Men, Women, and Teens who wish to share the Word of God with others by proclaiming Scripture during mass.

TIME COMMITMENT
   ● Lectors are scheduled to proclaim either the first or second reading once or twice each month
   ● Prior to Sunday, lectors are asked to prepare by reading and reflecting upon the readings they will proclaim
   ● A training session for new lectors is held prior to beginning this ministry

SERVICE PROVIDED
The choir, numbering about 35, is a group of volunteers consisting of various musical abilities who enjoy enhancing the celebrations of the Eucharist at St. Mary throuughout the year.

TIME COMMITMENT
Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the church choir loft from September to December and from February to May. The choir sings at the 9:30 Mass and during the holidays.

SERVICE PROVIDED
St. Mary Resurrection Choir is a group of volunteers who enjoy music and sing for all parish funerals. This dedicated group of people, through song, comforts those who grieve the death of a loved one.

PRESENT NEEDS
Men and Women singers who are available on weekday and Saturday mornings.
 
TIME COMMITMENTS
● Whenever a funeral is scheduled.  Funerals are celebrated most often in the morning.
● Occasional practices are held.
● Singers gather in the choir loft.

● Greet those coming to worship on Sundays and holy days.
● Assist with seating of those gathering as needed.
● Collect weekly donations from those gathered for Mass.
● Organize individuals to bring forth the gifts of bread & wine.
● Direct Communion procession
● Distribute the “Chronicle” as people leave the church.
● Call for emergency assistance if needed.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
● Men, Women and Teens willing to serve as an usher.

TIME COMMITMENT
● Group meetings in the evening usually with dinner 2-3 times each year.
● Ushers are assigned to assist at a particular Mass each week.
