Christian service is the act of doing work for God with a willing heart. For example, willingly spending your time and resources to aid the propagation of the gospel. At St. Mary Parish, there are many opportunities to serve our brothers and sisters throughout the year. If you would like to volunteer in any Christian Service ministry or if you are in need of any of these services for yourself or someone you know, please Contact Lorie Bronson.
SERVICE PROVIDED The Eucharistic Minister is a sign of the support and concern the parish has for the sick, disabled, and elderly Catholics. On a regular basis, volunteers visit those unable to gather for the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist. PRESENT NEEDS Men, women, and teens desiring to be Eucharistic Ministers. TIME COMMITMENT One to two hours each month when visiting those in hospitals and nursing homes. A short training session is required prior to serving in this ministry. EMEs are scheduled once or twice each month. In preparation for this ministry, EMEs are asked to pray daily and meditate on the Sunday Scripture passages. CONTACT Lorie Bronson 734-241-6088 |

Stephen Ministry was founded in 1975 and is found in more than 160 Christian denominations across the United States, Canada, and in 24 other countries. Christ the Redeemer has been a Stephen Ministry parish for over 20 years and more than 100 people have been trained as Stephen Ministers in our parish. Stephen Ministry is a program designed to provide high quality, confidential, Christ-Centered care to people who are hurting and struggling through a difficult time in life—experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or some other life crisis.
A Stephen Minister undergoes 50 hours of training and works in continual consultation with our supervision team, as well as, receiving continuing education.
