Monroe Catholic Elementary School was founded in 2012 from the three parish schools in the city of Monroe. Catholic education in Monroe County dates back to the 1840s. MCES serves the community at two campuses: The St. Michael campus provides childcare services through students in 2nd grade. The St. Mary Campus serves 3rd through 8th grade. The middle school students have the opportunity to have shared classes at Saint Mary Catholic Central High School. MCES is dedicated to providing a high-quality Catholic education for our students, in partnership with their families. Through this partnership, we are committed to forming saints and scholars according to the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Church.

St. Mary Catholic Central High School is a heritage school formed from the 1986 merger of St. Mary Academy, founded by the IHM Sisters, and Monroe Catholic Central, served by the Brothers of Holy Cross.
