Family and friends of Dr. Christopher Kelly gathered on Thursday, June 10th to remember God’s goodness, console one another and strengthen our belief that we are a people of hope. A gifted surgeon, Chris set high standards for himself; a trait reflected in his work. A native of Iowa, Chris joined the Catholic Church through RCIA, after witnessing the faith of his wife, Lisa’s family. Chris also had a “funny” sense of humor and was described by his staff as one who taught them many things. As a plastic surgeon, Chris took great pride in helping others to feel better about themselves. He often repaired cleft palates and was a “cheerleader” for the work of “Operation Smile” who worked in developing countries to help children born with cleft palates. St Mary Parish extends it sympathy to Lisa, Chris’s wife, and to his daughter, Erin, as well as his mother and father-in-law, Bonnie and Paul Greb, his extended family and to his many friends and colleagues who mourn his passing. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Patrick. May our merciful God grant each of you His peace, a peace beyond all understanding.
