Anita Lou Ellerbrock, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother had great trust in God’s mercy and love. Her confidence in God can be summed up in a phrase she often quoted: “Things will work out, they always do.” Anita was often seen wearing stylish hats. To honor her at her funeral, several family members wore her hats; a gesture that Anita would have appreciated!! Her love of hats led her to become a member of the Red Hat Society! A woman of deep faith, she became Catholic prior to marrying her husband, Don more than 66 years ago. Anita co-founded the St. Mary Pre-School Religious Education Program. In later years, along with her husband, she worked serving those in need through our parish’s St. Vincent De Paul Society. An accomplished seamstress, she sewed many of the clothes that her children wore, including the wedding gown worn by her daughter, Sondra Pulter. A visit to the family home revealed her passion for sewing: a variety of fabrics, measuring tapes, needles, and threads! She was often consulted as to where to purchase fabrics of finest quality for special sewing projects and took pride in being a member of the American Sewing Guild. Anita’s goal in life was to make others happy through a kind deed or a smile. To those who often saw Anita’s smile, her husband, Don, her children: Beth (Dennis) Bidwell; Sondra (Jeffrey) Pulter, John (Karen); David and Amy (Brett) Hughes as well as her beloved grandchildren: Joseph, James, Matthew and Adam, the parish community offers its sympathy and the promise of our continued prayer.
