About Lorie Bronson,
Pastoral Associate, Faith Formation
and Christian Service

God’s gifts are limitless.  One of God’s gifts to me is the privilege of serving St. Mary Parish through leadership in the areas of Faith Formation and Christian Service. It is a joy to work with many St. Mary’s families as together we grow in faith through service to each other and our Monroe community.

I was born in Monroe and raised in this community along with my eight brothers and sisters.  In addition to my parents, I am grateful to the Sister, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the education and formation shared with me throughout my life.  As a child I was nurtured in faith within my biological family as well as my “faith family” at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

With my husband, Terry, we have, for the past 28 years chosen to share our faith among those who worship at St. Mary’s.  Our children, Kathleen (Oscar) Dussán, Michael, Patrick (Angela), Philip and Daniel found in St. Mary’s Parish a community that has grounded them in their Catholic identity.  In October, 2008 we welcomed our first grandchild, Sofía Loretta Dussán.

I enjoyed several years of caring for the sick as a registered nurse before deciding to stay at home full time with my young and growing family.  Involvement in the life of St. Mary Parish and beyond took the form of Lector, Eucharistic Minister to the sick, Pre-School Catechist, President of Heartbeat of Monroe and St. Mary Academy Alumnae, St. Mary’s First Friday Club, and the Monroe Vicariate Peace and Justice Committee.

Having a strong commitment to life-long faith formation, I returned to school as an adult, studying at Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio, and receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies.  Following graduation, I continued my studies at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, graduating in 2006 with a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies.  As an adult learner I was enriched as I encountered old truths and new realities.

Sharing my life with the St. Mary community has enhanced my commitment to live as a disciple of Christ. Thank you, Fr. Marc and the St. Mary Parish community, for entrusting me with the ministries of Faith Formation and Christian Service.
